VIERA Connect IPTV

VIERA Connect provides access to apps in such categories as video and music, social networking, games, news and lifestyle, sports, health and fitness. It also features a market site, where the consumer can select specific apps or accessories to help personalize the Internet experience. Popular apps on VIERA Connect include Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Facebook, Twitter, Wall Street Journal, and huluplus, all optimized for the best possible user experience. VIERA Link

The ET5 features VIERA Link, a technology that allows a consumer to operate all VIERA Link compatible AV components using only the TV’S remote control. In addition to operating a VIERA HDTV, video source, and home theater receiver can be connected to a VIERA HDTV and controlled via VIERA Link remote. Users can then watch their child, pet and/or property by installing the camera and networking to the VIERA HDTV via Ethernet cable.

The Super Resolution function allows images that were converted from 2D to 3D to be displayed in sharp, clear 3D while minimizing double image. 3D images with crisp contours are also produced from 3D broadcasts using the side-by-side method.

360 Backlight Scanning
By increasing the panel refresh to 120Hz with a 3-phase backlight system, crystals are more active and responsive than 120Hz standard systems to minimize image softening under motion. 360 backlight scanning allows for smooth images, without flicker, even in fast-moving scenes. Afterimages are thoroughly reduced by finer blinking.

IPS LED Panel
The IPS LED panel delivers a wide viewing angle with almost no picture degradation at off angle viewing. The high performance, high speed, high transmittance panel materials contribute to the 178 degree color viewing angle, high contrast performance and fast response time.

Skype Communication

An optional Skype Communication camera (TY-CC20W) allows the consumer to communicate with friends and family via a large TV, rather than on a small computer or smart phone screen.
